Zionist enemy forces arrested elderly cancer patient Amal Ghazi al-Rifi and her daughter, Yasmin Refaat al-Rifi, last night as they were returning to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing, following the mother’s medical treatment trip to Egypt.

According to published information, Yasmin had accompanied her mother during the treatment trip before the two were arrested while completing procedures to return to the Strip.

The al-Rifi family called on official and international bodies to intervene urgently and exert pressure to secure the release of Amal and her daughter, amid concerns over the health of the elderly patient, who is suffering from cancer.

In a related development, reports on passenger movements through the Rafah crossing on Tuesday, October 20, indicated that 71 Palestinians had departed for Egypt, including 29 patients and 42 companions, while 69 Palestinians had returned to the Gaza Strip.

The same reports indicated that two arrests had been recorded as part of the crossing’s passenger movements, without providing full official details regarding the circumstances of the arrests or the identities of all those detained.

As of now, no confirmed information has been made available regarding the location where Amal al-Rifi and her daughter are being held or their health condition following their arrest. Calls continue for their whereabouts to be disclosed and for their release.
