Director of Presidential Office discusses cooperation with MSF
Quoted from YPA, director of the presidential office, Head of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Planning Ahmed Hamed on Sunday met in Sanaa with representatives of Spanish, French and Swiss Doctors Without Borders (MSF) organizations.
The meeting discussed cooperation relations between Yemen and MSF’s organizations in the humanitarian field, especially in this critical phase of Yemen’s history.
The meeting touched on what Yemen suffers, especially in Tihama region, from the spread of diseases and epidemics, in light of the deterioration of health services as a result of the aggression and the blockade, as well as the contributions of organizations to combating epidemics and limiting their spread.
In the meeting, Hamed stressed that the organizations’ assistance should include providing urgent support for patients with cancer and heart disease, especially children, in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
Hamed called for more efforts and rapid intervention with regard to the medical airlift, especially since there are 32,000 patients need to travel for treatment abroad, affirming readiness to facilitate any difficulties facing the organizations’ work.
In this regard, MSF’s representatives confirmed that the organizations would work to increase their activities to help the Yemeni people, especially in the area of disease and epidemic control.
