Moscow: US attack on Yemen’s Ras Isa port unjustified
Moscow affirmed that the US attack on the port of Ras Isa in Yemen was unjustified and unacceptable, affirming its continued efforts to normalize the situation in the country.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press conference, “we consider such actions absolutely unjustified and unacceptable.”
She stressed that, “for our part, in coordination with our regional partners, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and Iran, we will continue to make tireless efforts to resolve the situation in and around Yemen as quickly as possible.”
Zakharova emphasized that the Russian side strongly believes in the need to immediately stop the violence, calling on all parties involved to exercise restraint and avoid any steps that could lead to further escalation and an expansion of the armed confrontation.
She added, “we are convinced that the path to ensuring long-term stability in this region of the world and a lasting settlement to the protracted Yemeni crisis lies through negotiations aimed at finding mutually acceptable compromise solutions to existing problems, while taking into account the legitimate interests of all major Yemeni political forces, including the Ansar Allah movement.”
