American coalition decides to withdraw from Abu Ghraib base in Baghdad
The American-led international coalition forces decided on Tuesday to withdraw from the “Abu Ghraib” military base north of Baghdad, and hand them over to the Iraqi forces in the coming hours.
Alsumaria News website stated that “Abu Ghraib base” is the sixth military site from which the US-led international coalition forces have withdrawn in the recent period.
Last month, Iraqi forces formally took over the military “base of al-Qaim” on the border with Syria, after the withdrawal of the international coalition forces from it.
Last March, the American coalition forces also announced the withdrawal of their soldiers from the “Qayyara” air base south of Mosul and handing them over to the Iraqi forces.
