FM holds Saudi-led aggression responsible for any leakage from Safer ship
Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Saturday held the Saudi-led aggression countries fully responsible for the occurrence of any oil spill from the ship Safer.
Sharaf warned, in a statement, against the aggression coalition countries’ attempt to use this file in any reckless aggressive military action, affirming that this would lead to the largest oil spill in the world and severe environmental repercussions that would harm Yemen and the countries of the region in the first place.
In this regard, the Foreign Minister denounced what was stated in the US State Department’s statement regarding the ship Safer, which held the authorities in Sana’a responsible for any oil spill from it.
Sharaf referred that the authorities in Sana’a have previously requested more than once from the United Nations, its organizations and specialized agencies in Yemen to send an evaluation and maintenance team to the Safer floating oil tank to assess the situation and perform the required maintenance.
He pointed out that it is the aggression forces that impose a tight blockade on Yemen by land, sea and air and prevent access to the ship Safer or even its maintenance.
