Judicial Council decides to suspend works in the courts for a period of two weeks

The Supreme Judicial Council held an extraordinary meeting headed by Judge Speaker Ahmad Yahya al-Mutawakkil, the meeting discussed a number of important and emerging issues related to the functioning of the judiciary in the current circumstances the country is going through, in light of the Corona epidemic.

Whereas, the report submitted by the committee in charge of the council was discussed regarding the necessary measures and precautions to be taken to confront the negative effects of the Corona epidemic on the work of the judiciary.

In light of the discussion, the council approved the temporary suspension of ordinary work in the courts for a period of two weeks from the date of the council’s decision, with the adoption of a rotating mechanism to consider urgent cases that cannot be delayed.
