Shura Speaker sends letters regarding the detention the aggression forces of oil derivatives ships

Speaker of the Shura Council Mohammed al-Aidarous on Thursday called on several international organizations for assuming their roles in a manner that embodies the humanitarian goals announced by them in pressing for ending the all-out economic blockade on Yemen.

This came in letters he sent to the Association of the Senate, Shura and Equivalent Council in Africa and the Arab World, the United Nations, UN Envoy to Yemen, and UN Residnet Representative Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator for Yemen.

The letters included briefing on the arbitrary actions frequently practiced by Saudi-led aggression coalition, represented in holding fuel ships off Jizan port for long periods that up to 78 days, despite obtaining permits from the United Nations after being subject to measures of verification and inspection.

The letters reviewed the crises and supply shortages in oil derivatives and gas as a result of holding the fuel ships, which reflects negatively on the service sectors, especially the health, water and environment sectors in light of the Corona virus epidemic outbreak.

In the letters, the Shura Speaker held the United Nations responsible for the consequences of its silence on the coalition’s criminal practices against Yemen people.

Al-Aidarous called for ending the obstructs to importing the oil shipments, releasing the detained fuel ships and the others carrying medicines and food and allowing them to unload their cargo in Hodeidah ports, as well as neutralizing the national economy.
