Water Corporation warns of stopping the sewage treatment plant due to oil derivatives blockade
The Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the capital Sana’a warned of a health and environmental disaster and the possibility that the sewage treatment plant will stop working due to the lack of oil derivatives.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Foundation confirmed that the residents of the capital will be deprived of clean drinking water if drinking water stops pumping into more than 70 wells.
The statement indicated the dangers of stopping providing water and sanitation services to hospitals, as well as stopping the equipment and machinery of the institution.
The statement held the United Nations and the UN envoy to Yemen, fully responsible for the catastrophic health and environmental situation.
The Water Corporation called on the international community to take a serious stance by pressing the aggression to release the ships of oil derivatives to avoid an imminent humanitarian disaster.
