Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi: a diplomatic solution is what we focus on
Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi, said, “a diplomatic solution is what we focus on, constantly call for and do what we can to reach an agreement at the national level, if foreign interference stopped.”
Answering Peter Silsbury’s questions, the British journalist and member of the International Crisis Group, Al-Houthi explained that the interference of the USA, Saudi Arabia, Britain, the UAE, and the other countries in the aggression had caused destruction, killing, and targeting of the Yemeni People.
Al-Houthi pointed out that the United Nations is looking for how to satisfy the Saudi-led aggression, by adopting all that those countries offer them, while not accepting any proposals presented by the National Salvation government in Sana’a. He said, “we presented a comprehensive solution that contains fair solutions for all Yemenis, they are not impossible solutions. Rather, they demand the minimum of solutions that must be implemented for the sake of the Yemeni People and to stop the aggression.”
Mohammad Al-Houthi called on the United Nations to be neutral and not to depend on the team that was working with the former envoy Ould Sheikh, as well as not to adopt the mechanism that he was working with which led to failure. He said, “we advised the current envoy to do so, but he continued with that mechanism and did not come out so far with a result.” He affirmed that civilians should not be targeted, and said, “It is not in our goals to target civilians, and if it was in our goals to target them, that would have emerged clearly.”
He renewed the demand for the formation of investigation committees into the crimes committed against civilians and the recognized and clear massacres committed against the Yemeni People.
