A meeting confirms the initiation of disciplinary cases against a number of prosecutors for violations
A meeting in Sana’a, chaired by the Attorney General, Judge Nabil Nasser Al-Ezzani, discussed ways to enhance the role of the Judicial Inspection Authority in upgrading the judicial work and filing disciplinary cases against those breaching their judicial duties among the members of the Public Prosecution.
The meeting, which included the head and members of the Judicial Inspection Authority and the head of the technical office in the Office of the Attorney General, Judge Ahmed Al-Jindabi, touched on the activities of the commission and the results of the inspection of the prosecution offices in Amanet Al-Asemah and the governorates of Al-Hudaydah, Al-Bayda, Taiz, Ibb and Hajjah since August till November 2020, which resulted in the completion of 4000 and 400 cases under investigation were overdue.
The attendees valued the tasks accomplished by the inspection committees in rearranging and organizing work and solving problems facing the judicial workflow in public prosecutions, as well as developing practical perceptions and visions to address deficiencies.
The meeting approved a special work mechanism to complete 80 percent of the cases under investigation within a period not exceeding the end of December of this year, in implementation of the prosecution plan and in line with the requirements of the national vision for building the modern state related to the justice system.
The meeting reviewed the extent of the prosecution’s commitment to circulars, periodical books, and guiding instructions issued by the Attorney General, the Inspection Authority and the Technical Office and approved the establishment of a follow-up unit in the Inspection Authority to distribute and follow up the delivery of these 46 circular and 16 periodical books issued during 2019-2020.
The meeting also confirmed the establishment of disciplinary cases against a number of Public Prosecution judges for their violations and abuses of powers, and they were referred to the Judicial Council for action.
The attendees also praised the efforts of chiefs and prosecutors in overcoming the difficulties related to going to the field for inspection, completing the cases under investigation and for what would improve performance and the speed in completing the cases in quantity and quality.
