Yemeni People Will Not Forget Sincere, Courageous Positions Around The World: Al-Mashat
The head of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, considered what Yemen and the world witnessed “an expression of the conscience of the free world and the strong will of the Yemeni people who are steadfast in the face of the US-Saudi aggression and siege.”, according to almasirah.
Al-Mashat thanked “all the free people of the world and the Yemeni people for the millions of demonstrations” under the slogan “The US aggression and siege are terrorist crimes,” stressing that “the Yemeni people will not forget the sincere and courageous positions around the world that represented a strong voice amid the silence of the international community.”
Over 9 countries participated in the “Global Day for Yemen” with demonstrations in support of the Yemeni people who are groaning under death, hunger and disease.
Activists tweeted on social media with the hashtag #Stop_War_on_Yemen, on many countries to revive this event, and about 300 civil and human rights organizations participated in this virtual demonstration.
The move received attention from many university students around the world, including a student gathering at the University of Iowa, who emphasized that silence about the war on Yemen means acceptance of it, stressing the importance of showing that opposition to violence and injustice has a global consensus.
