Moroccan authorities forcibly disperse stand of solidarity with Palestinian people
The Moroccan authorities forcibly dispersed a stand of solidarity with the Palestinian people in the center of the capital, Rabat, on the 45th anniversary of Palestinian Land Day.
The security men prevented the demonstrators from reaching the square opposite Parliament, in the center of Rabat, to express their solidarity with the Palestinian cause and condemn the Moroccan normalization with the Israel occupation in recent times.
The demonstrators raised slogans such as “normalization is treason,” “Palestine is a trust,” and “protest is a legitimate right.”
The authorities blocked access to the main street and prevented protesters from reaching it.
Morocco announced the normalization of its relations with Israel on December 10.
The two countries reopened two offices after Morocco took the initiative to close the liaison office with Israel in the year 2000, following the outbreak of the second Palestinian intifada.
