Al-Shami condemns Guterres’ statement on murderers of President al-Sammad
The spokesman for the government in Sanaa, Daifallah al-Shami, strongly condemned on Tuesday the statements of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, “António Guterres,” regarding the implementation of execution against nine man convicted of the assassination of the martyred President Saleh al-Sammad.
The spokesman said in a statement that the UN used to condemn the victim and stand in the side of the aggressor, forgetting that the executed were involved in the assassination of the head of state.
Al-Shami pointed out that the UN statement is not different from its positions and decisions, which has failed towards the Yemeni people, who have been subjected to aggression and unjust siege for seven years.
The spokesman called on the international organization to pay attention to the suffering of millions of Yemeni children who have been deprived of the most basic necessities of life by the aggression and are now vulnerable to death, bombing, siege, or starvation and epidemics.
He also stressed that the Yemeni judiciary has become independent like other state institutions that exercise their functions away from any political considerations, noting that such as statements affect the performance of these institutions, which carry out their duty to establish justice for citizens.
