In Pictures: Huge military parade for the security units of the Ministry of Interior in the capital Sana’a

The capital, Sanaa, in the 70 square, witnessed yesterday a bulky military parade that included forces from the different security units of the Ministry of Interior. This parade is considered the largest in the history of Yemen for the security units and comes on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the September 21 revolution.

The parade started off with verses from the Holy Quran and the national anthem. It was attended by members of the Supreme Political Council, heads of parliaments, the Shura Council, ministers and the judiciary, deputies of the presidents of the parliament and ministers, members of parliaments, ministers, leaders of the ministries of interior and defense, governorate governors, scholars and social figures.

The parade began with the passing of squadrons of police college students, through which they demonstrated the high level of training and qualification they received.

The Central Security Forces, the Rapid Intervention Forces, and the Anti-Riot Control Forces followed, with a solemn display, confirming the readiness and high discipline of these quality forces, their qualification, organization and full readiness to carry out the tasks entrusted to them with efficiency and competence.

Moreover, police forces followed, showing the level of readiness they have reached to serve the Yemeni people and to watch for their security and stability.

In turn, the governmental institution security demonstrated the highest levels of discipline and organization by presenting a solemn show that reflected their readiness to protect all installations and national gains. Also, members of the Coast Guard forces entered participated to confirm their ability to protect and secure Yemen’s coasts and territorial waters.

The public security forces, too, dazzled the attendees with their development in equipment, high morale and full readiness to perform the tasks entrusted to them with efficiency and competence, while the traffic police presented a wonderful performance to the melodies of military music that filled the place and gave the show a purely patriotic character.

The various security units participating in the parade chanted patriotic slogans, stating that these units, with their various names, existed for the sake of the people and to preserve their security and stability, and that they would protect the homeland from all the conspiracies of the forces of aggression and their mercenaries.

The various security units also affirmed their true and sincere affiliation to their country and to move forward in protecting the homeland, considering security a priority and an important internal front.

The parade included a large review of the armored vehicles of the various security formations and units, at the forefront of which are the “Baas 2” armored vehicles, which is the pride of the Yemeni industry, and represents the second generation of this type of locally manufactured armor, which has special security specifications and contains a 12.7 mm weapon firing tower with a 360-degree rotation, In addition to a mobile B10 artillery gun and a 6.0V8 engine with 352 horsepower.

In the parade, the Minister of Interior, Major General Abdul Karim al-Houthi, on behalf of the ministry’s employees welcomed the attendees saying “On a great day of Allah’s days, in which the sincerity of Allah’s promise to his weak servants is manifested in the historical confrontation with tyrants and arrogance in this era.”

He stressed that preserving the lives and properties of citizens, providing them with security and protecting them from all dangers is one of the greatest ways to get closer to Allah.

He added, “As we approach the memory of the September 21 revolution, we need to remember the systematic targeting and destruction of the army and the security establishment by the enemies, whether through assassinations, bombings, and others.”

The Minister of Interior recalled the targeting of the Central Security Forces during their parade in 70 Square, which claimed the lives of hundreds of martyrs and wounded.

He stressed that the great security achievements achieved during the past years at the hands of the security men are among the benefits of the September 21 revolution, which spurred glory and dignity.

He pointed out that the conspiracies of the enemies failed, and Allah thwarted their plot, because the Almighty does not break his promise. He said, “We are facing an aggression targeting the people, their security and stability, led by America and Israel for eight years.”

The Minister of Interior stressed that the security establishment will do everything in its power to improve security work in its various fields, regardless of the challenges and sacrifices, and it will remain on the lookout for anyone who tries to endanger the security of the Yemeni people.

Major General Abdul Karim al-Houthi thanked the employees of the Ministry of Interior and all the honorable and free people of the Yemeni people who were and still are of help and support for the ministry and partners in all security achievements.

“If we have a message on this great day, it is for the leader of the Qur’anic march, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to whom we say: We are Allah’s soldiers and his supporters under your signal to complete readiness for all security and military tasks,” he added.

At the end of his speech, the Minister of Interior addressed the Yemeni people by saying, “Our lives are for you. We are your men in all circumstances, on high alertness and fully prepared to work to provide you with security with all we can, this is our duty.”

After the minister’s speech, the Supreme Political Council Sultan al-Sami, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs Lieutenant-General Khaled al-Ruwaishan, Minister of Interior Major General Abdul Karim al-Houthi, Minister of Defense Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi, and Chief of the General Staff Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari, laid a wreath at the tomb of the martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad and his companions.

The great military parade confirmed the great successes achieved by the security establishment in consolidating the security and stability in the free governorates, as well as the development in the work and performance of this institution in maintaining order and the law, combating crime and thwarting the conspiracies and schemes of aggression to target the home front. This was a result of tireless and continuous work in preparing, rebuilding, training and qualifying this pioneering national institution on the correct foundations of pure national belonging, faith identity, and loyalty to Allah Almighty and to the wise leadership represented by the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
