Defense Minister: We will not allow the plunder of wealth to continue, and our forces are ready to protect our maritime boundaries

Sanaa sent a series of new important military messages to the forces of the American, Saudi, and Emirati aggression, in which they affirmed their readiness to protect the country’s wealth, stop the looting it is exposed to and work to impose national sovereignty on land and sea, in order to overturn the “curse of geography” equation and turn it into Yemen’s interests, both regionally and internationally.

The Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi, said: “The aggression’s failure to adhere to the armistice reveals the extent of Western colonial ambitions for Yemen’s wealth, economic capabilities and strategic geographical location,” stressing that Sana’a is fully aware of the plans of the occupation forces “and their race to control oil and gas sites in the eastern provinces of the country.”

“The ongoing looting of Yemen’s wealth will not pass without reckoning, and the battle for liberation and independence is the key to defeating the invaders with their various names,” he added.

These statements carry a clear message to the coalition of aggression and its sponsors regarding their efforts to exploit the truce. They seek to gain time and consolidate their colonial projects in the occupied areas, and during the last period, clear indications proved their tendency towards imposing the looting of wealth and dividing the country as a fait accompli, under the guise of the armistice.

Al-Atifi stressed that the armed forces “are able to protect the wealth of the Yemeni people and are ready to respond at the appropriate time determined by the leader of the revolution,” stressing that the enemy’s bet on the retreat of Sana’a or the reversal of its will “even for a moment” is a bet on the impossible.

Al-Atifi added that the concept of the “curse of geography” that turned Yemen into covetousness for colonial forces, will turn, with the efforts of the armed forces, into a “blessing of geography,” and that “the Yemeni people will not pay the price for their position, but will make the trespassers pay dearly.”

And he announced a “direction to build and establish a naval force that would take on national and regional responsibility and international entitlements,” stressing that “no one will be allowed to infringe on our national and maritime sovereignty.”

These assertions are additional clear messages and warnings to the forces of aggression regarding their insistence on keeping Yemen under tutelage and their ambitions to control the waterways and coasts. The Minister of Defense’s statements confirm readiness to fight and win the sea battle, and impose new regional equations that free strategic waterways from tutelage and Western ambitions.

The armed forces had sent these messages directly and implicitly during the great military parade of the Fifth Military District, which was hosted by the coastal governorate of Hodeidah under the title “The Promise of the Hereafter” and included the unveiling of advanced and qualitative naval weapons that had not been announced before.
