The Minister of Foreign Affairs meets the Deputy Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Sana’a

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, met today with the Deputy Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Sana’a, Diego Zorrilla.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Sajjad Muhammad Sajjad, they discussed the ongoing preparations for the donors’ conference to mobilize support for the humanitarian response plan in Yemen for the year 2023, which will be held on February 27, and the latest developments related to the floating oil tanker Safer.

In the meeting, the Foreign Minister stressed the need for the support provided to Yemen to be commensurate with the growing humanitarian needs due to the aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen, which will enter its ninth year in the coming weeks.

He stressed the need to move from the emergency phase to provid aid of a developmental nature and achieve a kind of beginning of economic stability
