Supreme Medical Committee condemns measures taken by Jordanian authorities regarding Yemeni patients
The Supreme Medical Committee of the Ministry of Public Health and Population condemned on Thursday the measures taken by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan regarding Yemeni patients.
The medical committee stated, in a statement, of which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received a copy, that it had received the circular issued recently by the Ministry of Interior in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan regarding the travel of Yemeni patients for treatment in the hospitals of the Kingdom of Jordan, which included the requirement that they obtain medical reports issued by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Exclusively with great shock and amazement.
“As we express our condemnation of these measures, we affirm that this step represents an arbitrary measure that complicates travel for the purpose of treatment, especially for emergency cases,” it said.
The medical committee called on the brothers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to continue allowing patients to arrive according to medical reports issued from Sana’a, and to facilitate Yemeni patients’ access to diagnostic and treatment services, as a legitimate human right and in view of the emergency humanitarian situation resulting from eight years of aggression and siege.
It held the United Nations and the Aggression Coalition responsible for the continued disruption of travel destinations to Cairo and India, the continuation of the siege on Sana’a Airport, and any consequences that may occur for patients.
The committee renewed the demand to open flights from Sana’a Airport to all destinations in various countries of the world, and to lift the unjust siege on the Yemeni people so that patients can travel and receive treatment in any destination without any arbitrary measures against them, and invite brothers and friends in various parts of the world to extend a medical helping hand to the Yemeni people.
