Saudi Arabia releases Yemeni abductees , misleads international opinion by describing them as prisoners of war

Today, three ICRC planes arrived at the international airports of Sana’a and Aden, carrying 104 Yemeni detainees who were deported from Saudi Arabia, where 96 detainees arrived in the capital, Sana’a, while 8 others arrived at Aden airport.
They were received by Minister of Human Rights Ali Al-Dailami, Deputy Minister of Expatriate Affairs Zayed Al-Riyami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni News Agency Saba – Editor-in-Chief Nasr Al-Din Amer.
The Minister of Human Rights welcomed the deported Yemeni expatriates in their homeland and among their brothers .. He said, “Praise be to God for your safety, and welcome to your land and homeland, especially after we listened to many complaints, tragic stories and the suffering that you were subjected to in prisons.”
He confirmed in a press conference at Sana’a International Airport that those who arrived today were kidnapped from their work at oil stations or grazing sheep and other places where they are in Saudi Arabia, and others were kidnapped from the Yemeni-Saudi border while performing Hajj.
The minister Al-Dailami stated that the deported detainees were in the Saudi prisons, including those who stayed in prison for nearly 14 years without any clear charge.
He added, “Our brothers, the deported detainees, were subjected to various types of torture, including suspension and the use of cables and electricity whereas traces of torture are still present, in addition to reducing the amount of water and food.”
