Air Defenses Down American MQ-9 Drone in Marib’s Airspace

The Yemeni armed forces have successfully downed an American MQ9 drone. The incident occurred in the airspace over the Marib Governorate, where the drone was engaged in hostile actions.

A statement released by the Yemeni military detailed the event, stating that their air defenses targeted the American unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with a domestically produced surface-to-air missile. The downing of the drone took place on Thursday evening, and the military has announced plans to distribute footage of the incident at a later date, Allah’s willing.

The statement further highlighted that this marks the fourth such UAV to be shot down during the “Battle of the Promised Victory and the Holy Jihad” in support of Gaza.

The Yemeni military’s statment emphasized their complete readiness at all levels—land, sea, and air—to counter any enemy attempts, asserting that all such endeavors will ultimately fail and that the armed forces stand ready to confront any threats.
