In Pictures: Grand Conclusion of Summer Camps Ceremony
Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, witnessed a grand celebration on Sunday at the Al-Sabeen Square, marking the conclusion of the central summer courses for the year 1445H (2024). The event showcased a scout display by the students enrolled in the courses.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ahmed Hamed, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Mahmoud Al-Junaid, Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs, and Dhaifallah Rasam, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, among others. Mohammed Hussein Al-Muayyad, Minister of Youth and Sports in the caretaker government, highlighted the importance of summer courses in preserving the emerging generations and protecting them from intellectual and cultural invasion. He also emphasized the role of these camps in enlightening them with useful knowledge and sciences and raising awareness to confront the enemies of the nation.
The Minister lauded the success level achieved by this year’s summer courses and appreciated the efforts of those in charge, members of the Supreme Committee for Activities and Summer Courses, and the technical, executive, and subsidiary committees in the provinces and directorates. He also praised the educational and teaching staff working in the open and model summer courses and everyone who contributed to providing a suitable environment to help the generation become cultured with Quranic culture.
Minister Al-Muayyad noted the activities and programs of the summer courses aimed at developing the capabilities and skills of the youth in various fields. These included instilling faith identity in the hearts of those enrolled in these courses, enabling them to improve the reality of the nation. He congratulated the students on their graduation from the summer courses, appreciating the role of the entities, institutions, supporting businessmen, social personalities, and everyone who made an effort to make the activities and summer courses successful.
The Minister of Youth and Sports explained that the total number of those enrolled in the summer courses reached 1.1 million students. They received knowledge and skills in various fields during these courses, enhancing their abilities to create an aware generation armed with Quranic culture.
He commended the parents for their active involvement with the summer courses and their contribution to their success, which led to the achievement of the set objectives. He highlighted the scout shows that took place at Al-Sabeen Square during the graduation ceremony, which served as a practical demonstration of the skills acquired by the students during the summer courses. These displays also showcased the significant level of moral maturity the students have attained.
The closing ceremony, attended by several members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, and a number of state leaders and those in charge of the summer courses, featured a scout display reflecting the skill level of the scout movement students and the extent of their benefit from the summer courses programs.
The scout display embodied the image of the emerging and coming generation, the generation of victory, which is being prepared in various fields to correct the reality of the nation and stand against its enemies.
