Saudi Arabia Faces Renewed Warnings Over Escalation Against Yemen

In a stark warning to the Saudi regime, accused of colluding with American economic escalation against the Yemeni people in service of the Zionist entity, the leadership in Yemen has issued a fresh round of cautions to Riyadh. The Saudi actions, including the attempts to close  Sana’a airport and detain Yemeni pilgrims, have placed the kingdom at odds with Yemen’s leadership, threatening the already fragile peace process under American influence.

During his weekly speech last Thursday, the Yemeni revolution leader, Sayyid al-Houthi, dedicated a significant portion of his speech to discussing the American efforts to entangle Arab regimes in aggression against Yemen, serving Zionist interests. He issued a broad warning: “Should any regime align with the Americans to serve the enemy, our people have the right to take any necessary action in response.”

The Saudi regime is particularly targeted by this warning due to its ongoing involvement in the conflict in Yemen, which has persisted for nine years. Recent signs of Saudi involvement in economic and humanitarian escalations against Yemen have drawn sharp rebukes from the Yemeni leadership. Over the past weeks, numerous warnings have been directed at Riyadh regarding the consequences of these actions.

The Yemeni leader indicated that his upcoming speech, marking the Islamic New Year, would address Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the latest American escalation, hinting at the possibility of delivering critical and final warnings to Riyadh. Despite previous cautions, Saudi Arabia escalated tensions last week by closing Sana’a airport and detaining pilgrims, underscoring its alignment with aggressive American policies aimed at pressuring Sana’a to halt its military support for the Palestinian people.

However, following intense pressure from the Yemeni leadership, Sana’a airport welcomed its first flight of pilgrims yesterday, Friday. Starting Saturday, regular flights to Amman, Jordan, will resume, currently the sole destination available to Yemenis. It is anticipated that more destinations will soon be accessible, marking a significant development in easing travel restrictions for Yemeni citizens.

The heightened warnings from the Yemeni leader underscore the severe implications for the Saudi regime, which continues to resist moving towards a fair peace agreement. Instead, Saudi Arabia maintains a state of de-escalation as a diplomatic cover for its continued conspiracies against the Yemeni people. The Yemeni leader has unequivocally stated in recent weeks that Yemen “will not be restrained” in responding to escalations, signaling that the de-escalation state will not shield Saudi Arabia from the consequences of its actions.

A new round of prisoner exchange negotiations in Muscat is taking place, hoping for an all-for-all prisoner exchange deal. The outcome of these talks will reveal the Saudi regime’s intentions and loyalty to American interests.

This ongoing hostile conduct could compel Sana’a to take decisive new measures, demanding that the Saudi regime firmly decide on peace and cease procrastination to prevent using the de-escalation state as a cover for further escalation. It will become evident to the Saudi government that its reliance on deceit and evasion is misplaced and that it cannot surrender to American desires while maintaining a peace process that America opposes.
