American weapons in their worst condition, MQ-9 drones out of service

Yemen’s Armed Forces successfully turned two MQ-9 drones into ashes within 72 hours, a Greek site confirmed, considering that a humiliation for the United States.

Banking news noted that the Yemeni Armed Forces might provide additional evidence supporting their announcement of downing the MQ-9 drones, emphasizing that each MQ-9 drone costs over $30 million.

The Greek site praised the capabilities of the Yemeni Armed Forces, pointing out that hundreds of American and British airstrikes in Yemen, aimed at deterring and weakening its offensive capabilities, were ineffective.

On Tuesday, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the downing of an American spy drone, marking the second such incident in three days and the ninth since Yemen began its involvement in the Battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad in support of Gaza.

Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, the spokesperson for the Armed Forces, stated that the air defenses shot down the MQ-9 drone while it was conducting hostile, espionage, and combat operations over Sa’ada.

One month after the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm battle, and in an operation unprecedented outside Yemeni territory, the Yemeni Air Force downed an American MQ-9 reconnaissance drone on November 8, 2023. The drone was engaged in hostile acts, surveillance, and espionage in Yemeni territorial waters, as part of Washington’s support for the Zionist entity.

The series of downings of MQ-9 drones began seven years ago, specifically on October 1, 2017, when Yemeni Air Defenses shot down the first drone of this type while it was conducting hostile operations in the airspace of the capital, Sana’a. The footage of this incident shocked the US-Saudi aggression and led to a reduction in operations involving this type of drone due to the increasing success of downing operations in Yemeni airspace.

During the years of US-Saudi aggression against Yemen, a second drone of this type was shot down in June 2019 over the coastal governorate of Hodeida. In August of the same year, a third drone was downed in the central governorate of Dhamar, and in March 2021, a fourth MQ-9 drone was shot down in the governorate of Marib.
