The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Ziad al-Nakhalah, mourned the “martyr leader Yahya Sinwar,” and noted in a statement that “today we mourn a great and distinguished leader of our Palestinian people, who spent his life struggling, advancing the ranks and fighting for the sake of God, did not hesitate or weaken, and did not abandon his weapon, so his martyrdom was a turning point in the history of the Palestinian struggle.”

Al-Nakhalah added, “He is the great leader Yahya Sinwar, whose name is associated with the greatest battle that the Palestinian people have fought throughout their long struggle. It is the Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa with all the meanings of heroism, sacrifice and redemption that it carries.”

Al-Nakhalah continued, “Today we bid farewell to Abu Ibrahim, a leader and a martyr. The martyrs are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, and alive in the path of our jihad towards Jerusalem, and our flags are high and do not bow.”

He concluded, “The Palestinian people and the resistance will remain faithful to the line of resistance, and loyal to the spirit of the great leader Yahya Sinwar, the icon of jihad and resistance. They will carry his banner and his spirit, and will be proud of him as a leader and fighter until martyrdom. They will continue to fight on the path to Jerusalem, and they will continue to fight until victory, God willing.”
