The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health in the enemy entity issued an urgent appeal, warning of the presence of the dangerous asbestos material in buildings damaged by the war in the north, and stressed that this is a serious health threat that could turn into a real crisis, if it is not treated professionally and immediately, according to the Zionist website “Kipa”.

The site said that blast wave injuries, shrapnel and others caused significant damage to asbestos cement surfaces, especially in rural areas in the north, as damaged asbestos sheets release dangerous carcinogenic fibers, according to the definitions of the law, adding: “Now, with the preparation for the return of “residents” (settlers) and the intense civil activity to restore the area, government ministries warn that unprofessional handling may exacerbate the danger, as any unprofessional contact with it may endanger life.”

He continued: “As part of the new guidelines, the Ministry of Environmental Protection clarified that any suspicion of an asbestos hazard requires immediate reporting to the ministry’s hotline at 6911, and the disposal of materials must be carried out exclusively by certified specialists registered in the office’s registry. In addition, one should avoid entering buildings or courtyards in which there are asbestos fragments or materials suspected of being asbestos, and one should not open windows or remove objects from buildings that have been exposed to the hazard.”
