Yemen’s Future Strategy in Supporting Palestine: Insights from Sayyid al-Houthi’s Address

In his latest address, Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badruldeen al-Houthi- may Allah protect him, outlined Yemen’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing continued support both during the current phases of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and in future confrontations.

As the ceasefire agreement in Gaza approaches implementation this Sunday, Sayyid al-Houthi affirmed Yemen’s unwavering monitoring of developments in Palestine and Gaza. He stated, “If the Israeli enemy continues its genocidal massacres and escalations, we will persist with our offensive and military operations in support of the Palestinian people.” He specifically mentioned that Yemen would target strategic locations, including occupied Yaffa, referred to by the enemy as “Tel Aviv,” during the coming Friday and Saturday, should Israeli aggression persist. This declaration follows Yemen’s significant military operations targeting Yaffa and Umm al-Rashrash with cruise missiles and drones last Friday.

A Vision for Future Conflict Stages

Transitioning to a broader outlook, Sayyid al-Houthi highlighted Yemen’s principled and ethical stance on the Palestinian issue. He reiterated Yemen’s commitment to supporting Palestine in any future conflict, particularly in light of Israel’s expansionist ambitions and attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause and its resistance. “Our moral and religious obligation,” he emphasized, “is to stand by Palestine until it is liberated and its people achieve complete freedom and independence.”

Strengthening Military Capabilities for Long-term Support

Sayyid al-Houthi noted the enemies’ efforts to develop their military capabilities while attempting to weaken others. In response, he stated, “We in Yemen will continuously work to enhance our military capabilities, relying on Allah’s guidance, support, and assistance for greater strength and effectiveness in supporting the Palestinian people.” This determination underscores Yemen’s commitment to preparedness for any future confrontation, ensuring its support for Palestine remains unwavering.

The Element of Surprise: Yemen’s Distinctive Contribution

Sayyid al-Houthi highlighted Yemen’s role as a surprising force in supporting Gaza, delivering unprecedented military strikes. These included operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea targeting American, British, and Israeli naval vessels, as well as missile and drone strikes deep into Zionist territory.

The unexpected involvement of geographically distant Yemen in supporting Gaza has shocked observers and analysts alike. Emerging from a decade-long, destructive Saudi-American aggression, Yemen’s transformation into a pivotal support force for Gaza has defied expectations. Its operations have inflicted significant costs on adversaries, demonstrating Yemen’s resilience and strategic capabilities.

Military Achievements and Technological Advancements

Sayyid al-Houthi revealed that Yemen launched 1,255 ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, alongside drones, into Zionist territories—an unprecedented scale compared to Yemen’s military activity during the past decade of Saudi-American aggression. Yemen’s military innovations include advanced weaponry such as the Hatim missile, Palestine 1, and hypersonic Palestine 2 missiles, as well as sophisticated drones like Yaffa and unmanned submarines. These achievements signify Yemen’s capability to overcome challenges posed by ongoing aggression and economic pressures.

Impact on Zionist and U.S. Forces

Yemen’s strikes have caused widespread fear and disruption within the Zionist entity. Sayyid al-Houthi highlighted the panic among Zionist settlers, disruptions at Ben Gurion Airport, economic losses in the billions, and the paralysis of the only seaport Umm al-Rashrash. He also underscored the failure of U.S. forces to protect Zionist interests, despite deploying significant naval assets. Yemeni forces have repeatedly confronted and neutralized U.S. aircraft carriers such as “Roosevelt”, “Lincoln”, and “Truman”, forcing them to retreat from the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Key Impacts of Yemeni Operations on the Israeli Enemy as Highlighted by Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi;

  1. Widespread Panic Among Zionist Settlers: Millions of settlers fled their homes in fear as Yemeni missiles struck deep within Israeli territory, triggering alarms that forced people to evacuate in the dead of night.
  2. Disruption of Air Travel: Repeated halts in operations at Ben Gurion Airport led to many airlines avoiding resuming services, compounding the entity’s logistical challenges.
  3. Economic Losses: The escalating Yemeni operations have inflicted economic damage measured in billions of dollars, as acknowledged in various Zionist economic reports.
  4. The collapse of Umm al-Rashrash ‘Eilat’ Port: Despite U.S. and British military support for the Zionist entity, including the deployment of warships and aircraft carriers, these measures failed to safeguard Israeli maritime routes. The city of “Eilat”, is now gripped by fear and anxiety, with the Zionists there in constant state of alarm.

U.S. Failure to Protect Israeli Maritime Routes

Sayyid al-Houthi emphasized a critical outcome of Yemen’s solidarity with Gaza: the inability of U.S. forces to protect Israeli shipping in the Red Sea. Despite launching a massive military campaign against Yemen on January 12, 2024, which included deploying warships, fleets, and aircraft carriers, the U.S. has failed to secure its objectives.

The Yemeni forces, as Sayyid al-Houthi described, engaged and repeatedly expelled U.S. aircraft carriers from the operational theater. He cited notable examples, including the forced withdrawal of “Roosevelt” and  “Lincoln”, as well as ongoing confrontations with “Truman”. These expulsions have significantly disrupted U.S. naval operations, rendering their movements in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden both cautious and defensive.

“America is facing a different reality,” Sayyid al-Houthi stated. “They are now confronted by a force that challenges them with strength and determination.” He highlighted that Yemeni forces have repeatedly targeted U.S. carriers, forcing them to retreat to the northernmost parts of the Red Sea, over 1,000 kilometers away from Yemen’s coasts.

When these carriers attempt to advance, they are met with immediate resistance and are compelled to withdraw once again, along with their accompanying naval vessels. Sayyid al-Houthi noted that the U.S. strategy has shifted from offensive to defensive, with a focus on avoiding confrontation. He pointed to Truman as an example, noting its repeated retreats and the evolving U.S. reliance on evasive tactics rather than direct engagement.

Inevitable Collapse of the Israeli Entity

Sayyid al-Houthi reiterated the inevitable demise of the Israeli entity, describing it as temporary and affirming divine promises of its downfall. He warned of the Zionist’s future maneuvers, including advancing normalization efforts and propaganda campaigns aimed at diverting attention from Palestine. In his closing remarks, Sayyid al-Houthi reassured Palestinians: “You are not alone, and you will never be alone. Allah is with you, and we are with you until all of Palestine is liberated, and the oppressive, criminal, temporary entity is eradicated.”

Through his speech, Sayyid al-Houthi reaffirmed Yemen’s enduring commitment to Palestine, underscoring its readiness to stand firm in the face of aggression and its determination to contribute meaningfully to the liberation of Palestine.
