Zionist Arab affairs commentator Zvi Yehezkeli criticized the results of the battle in the Gaza Strip and the manifestations of Palestinian joy and celebrations over the ceasefire coming into effect.
In an interview with Maariv website, Yehezkeli said: “Hamas did not hand over the lists to show you what it thinks about the agreement, but it will transfer them, and it is already holding joyful celebrations in Gaza.
The hardest thing for me this morning is seeing these scenes. The elite forces returned to the vehicles, the same vehicles that slaughtered us, the same people who slaughtered us,” he said.
Yehezkeli added: “This actually tells me one thing, 15 months of fighting failed to change the equations of war in Gaza.. I actually ask myself, what did we do here for a year and five months? We have destroyed many homes, we have “sacrificed” our best “sons,” and in the end, the same formulas. Hamas is happy, the aid is coming in, and the elite forces are returning.”
Yehezkeli added: “Based on my knowledge of the Middle East for 25 years, or more, or even 30 years, I tell you that what you do not end now, you will have to end later. The question here is how much blood will be shed, unfortunately, both in Gaza and in the West Bank.”
Yehezkeli concluded: “I had to talk to you when I saw these pictures of the elite and the residents of the Gaza Strip returning to their homes happily.
This is completely contrary to the goals of our war and the goal we want to achieve in the Gaza Strip.”
