600 Portuguese politicians sign petition rejecting Trump’s Gaza plan

A group of prominent Portuguese political figures, in a petition signed by about 600 political, academic, military and elite journalists, denounced US President Donald Trump’s plans to displace the people of Gaza.
The figures addressed the petition to the Portuguese government and the United Nations, through which they saluted the Palestinian people for their steadfastness in the face of genocide and ethnic cleansing against them.
The petition rejected the genocide committed by the Israeli enemy against the Palestinians, and the unacceptable proposals of the United States of America regarding the displacement of the people of Gaza.
The Portuguese figures called on their government and the European Union to take a clear position, rejecting calls for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people, and calling for enabling them to exercise their right to self-determination.
The petition condemned the threats made by the US President that Washington would seize the Gaza Strip, displace its remaining two million residents and turn the area into a “resort.”
