The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” revealed yesterday, Wednesday, that 170,000 “Israeli” soldiers who recently returned from fighting registered in a program launched by the Ministry of Defense a month and a half ago, to receive psychological treatment.

The newspaper said: “Many reserve soldiers who have completed long months of service seek to obtain psychological treatment, but they face a severe shortage of therapists.”

It added: “Since the launch of the program, 170,000 soldiers, including about 4,000 reserve service personnel, have registered in the program to receive psychological treatment.”

According to the newspaper, the program of the Ministry of Defense “is facing difficulty in keeping up with the great demand from soldiers who remain unresolved.”

“The high demand, coupled with a shortage of available caregivers, has frustrated some applicants, who have sought to take advantage of the benefit offered to them, but to no avail so far,” it continued.
