Huge crowds bid farewell to martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine in southern Lebanon

The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, was buried today, Monday, in his hometown of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, southern Lebanon, amidst a large popular presence.

According to Lebanese media, the funeral ceremonies began on Monday afternoon, and included a massive march in the town.

Delegations from several countries also attended, including a Yemeni delegation headed by the Mufti of the Republic of Yemen, in addition to delegations from Lebanese villages and towns, in order to participate in the ceremonies.

The martyr Sayyed Safieddine was buried yesterday, Sunday, alongside the master of the nation, martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in a solemn ceremony that started from the “Camille Chamoun Sports City”, arriving at the burial place of Sayyed Nasrallah, in Beirut.

An estimated 1.4 million people participated in the funeral, from various Lebanese regions, Arab countries, and around the world, in addition to the official Lebanese and foreign attendance, delegations, and partisan and political parties.
