Reuters reported, citing Syrian sources, that more than 340 civilians were killed by gunmen affiliated with the “Syrian government” over the past two days, while the sectarian cleansing war continues in Alawite areas of the Syrian coast.
Dozens of Alawite residents of the city of Baniyas in Tartous countryside launched distress calls to save them from the widespread liquidation operations targeting families at the hands of gunmen from Turkestan.
Local sources reported that “the Turkestan Islamic Party began a sectarian cleansing operation in Baniyas this morning, Saturday, and does not distinguish between a child and an old man.”
The residents appealed to the security forces and everyone who can help to intervene and stop the sectarian liquidations that are taking place.
At the same time, press sources confirmed the killing of more than 400 civilians in massacres and field executions on the Syrian coast, while there is no movement on the ground to maintain security on the coast, “where residents do not dare to leave their homes due to the ongoing massacres committed by Turkestani, Chechen and Syrian militants.”
Media sources indicated that a massacre took place in the village of Sanobar, affiliated with the Jableh district, in which 72 people were martyred, according to an incomplete toll.
A new massacre took place in the village of Bustan al-Basha, in Jableh countryside, in which more than 30 people were martyred.
Ten people were also killed in the village of Harisoun, in Baniyas countryside, affiliated with the Tartous governorate.
In Latakia countryside, two massacres took place in the towns of al-Qabu and Ain al-Arus, where residents are appealing for permission to bury the victims.
Two massacres were recorded in Hama countryside: the first in the village of Arzeh, where 13 people were killed, and the second in the village of Al-Tuwaim, where 20 people were killed.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in Britain, reported earlier today, Saturday, that more than 300 Alawite civilians have been killed since Thursday by security forces affiliated with the new Syrian administration and groups affiliated with it, during combing operations and clashes with armed groups in the coastal region in the west of the country.
According to Agence France-Presse, the observatory reported “the killing of 311 Alawite civilians in the coastal region by security forces and groups affiliated with them” since Thursday.
