Mr. Khalil Hamada, the Director General of Forensic Medicine in the Gaza Strip, accused the Zionist enemy of seeking to obliterate evidence and documents proving its war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

This is done by directly targeting forensic medicine institutions and health facilities, and preventing the wentry of vital supplies and tools needed to identify the martyrs.

Hammada said in a press statement today, Sunday, that the enemy “army” is deliberately obliterating everything that could incriminate its crimes.

He pointed out that soldiers have scattered files examining martyrs in hospital courtyards and destroyed autopsy equipment, which has further complicated the work of specialized teams and hindered documentation and investigation efforts.

Hamada added that there is a shortage of resources allocated to forensic work, due to the destruction of essential equipment such as electric saws and X-ray machines, the prevention of the entry of toxicology testing devices, and the ban on the entry of materials needed for DNA testing, a key tool in identifying the bodies of unidentified martyrs.

Hamada explained that medical teams face a severe shortage in human resources, as there are only three forensic doctors serving all governorates of the Gaza Strip.

Hamada pointed out that dozens of bodies remain unidentified, explaining that in many cases, the reasons are due to the martyrdom of all family members at once, or the interruption of communication between families during the height of the aggression, which prevented the fate or whereabouts of missing persons from being determined.

Hamada noted that the enemy army buried a number of martyrs after killing them, which led to their bodies decomposing before they could be found.

The genocidal war perpetrated by the enemy in the Gaza Strip between October 7, 2023, and January 19, with the support of the United States, Britain, and several European countries, left more than 160,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
