Prisoner institutions stated that at least (63) prisoners have been martyred in Israeli prisons since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, including (40) martyrs from Gaza. Meanwhile, the enemy continues to conceal the identities of dozens of martyrs and withhold their bodies.

The prisoner institutions added, in a joint statement on the occasion of Palestinian Prisoners' Day, that the number of documented prisoner martyrs since 1967 is (300), the most recent of whom was the child Walid Ahmed from Silwad.

It explained that torture crimes at all levels, the crime of starvation, medical crimes, and sexual assaults were the primary reasons that led to the martyrdom of prisoners and detainees at a higher rate than any other period, based on historical monitoring and documentation available to the institutions.

The prisoners' institutions noted that testimonies and statements from prisoners inside enemy prisons, conveyed by legal teams, and testimonies documented by released detainees, revealed a shocking and horrific level of systematic torture methods, particularly in the accounts of detainees in Gaza.

The institutions continued: "In addition to torture, these testimonies included unprecedented methods of humiliation that violate human dignity, severe and repeated beatings, and deprivation of the minimum necessary conditions of life in detention."

They indicated that the enemy has worked to institutionalize crimes using specific tools and methods, requiring the international human rights system to view them as a new phase that threatens all of humanity, not just Palestinians.

This also applies to the issue of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Prisoners' organizations noted that the far-right enemy government has escalated its incitement campaigns and targeting of prisoners since before the war of extermination.

It was clear that this government was escalating its crimes against detainees through repression and attempts to strip them of their remaining rights.
