The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed today, Thursday, that the situation in the Gaza Strip is “critical,” everyone on the brink of collapse.

A UNICEF spokesperson in Palestine said that the rate of children dying in Gaza since the beginning of the war has reached 27 per day, while 39,000 children have been orphaned in the Strip.

The spokesperson added that the international community must exert pressure to allow aid into Gaza, and that the entry of aid into Gaza must not become a bargaining chip.

He pointed out that 16,000 people need to leave the Gaza Strip, including 4,000 children.
