Israeli Enemy Ramps Up Brutal Assaults on Lebanon Leaving Multiple Casualties

Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of brutal assaults on Lebanese civilians in southern Lebanon on Sunday, further flouting international law.

At approximately 12:00 PM, an Israeli drone launched an airstrike targeting a white vehicle at the entrance of Kouthariyet El-Siyad in the Al-Zahrani area. The drone fired three “Rafael” missiles, instantly martyring the driver of the car and leaving one bystander with minor injuries.

Immediately following the attack, Lebanese security forces, including the army and internal security forces, as well as ambulances and firefighters from the Islamic Health Organization’s Civil Defense, arrived at the scene. The medical teams transported the martyr and the injured individual to hospitals in the city of Nabatiyeh.

A Continued Pattern of Aggression

This attack follows another similar Israeli crime less than 72 hours ago, which resulted in the assassination of a resident from the town of Khiyam in the Ghazieh area. This pattern reflects an ongoing escalation of Israeli attacks on Lebanese civilians.

According to field sources, the missiles fired by the drone turned the targeted vehicle into a charred hulk, with the flames consuming the car entirely and the debris scattering in the surrounding area due to the force of the explosion. The sounds of the missiles were heard several kilometers away.

Additional Attacks and Casualties

In the town of Hula, near the border with occupied Palestine, another Lebanese citizen was martyred in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a prefabricated room with two missiles.

In the village of Qsaybeh-Breikeh, south of Lebanon, an unexploded ordinance from an earlier Israeli attack detonated within a military vehicle, killing two soldiers and injuring four others, including a child.

Israeli warplanes also conducted a series of airstrikes on the Jal Shihab region, located between the towns of Arnoun, Kfartabnit, and Yuhmur Al-Shkif in southern Lebanon. Later in the afternoon, the Israeli occupation army launched a series of airstrikes targeting Jabal Al-Rafi’a and Tal Malita in the heights of Iqlim Al-Tuffah.

South Lebanon

Further airstrikes were carried out on Sujud, Al-Lwaizeh, and Jabal Safi in Jabal Al-Rihan in the Jezzine area. Additionally, the outskirts of the village of Bisliyah near Jebaa were hit by an Israeli airstrike.

In another ceasefire breach, Sunday saw increased Israeli air activity over the town of Hermel, and last evening, the Israeli occupation army dropped illuminating flares over the border town of Aita Al-Shab.

Lebanese Civil Defense Recovers Two Martyrs’ Bodies

The firefighting and rescue teams of the Lebanese Civil Defense, in full coordination with the Lebanese Army, successfully recovered the body of a martyr following an explosion involving a military vehicle on the Breikeh–Qsaybeh road.

The cause of the explosion remains unclear. The teams also extinguished a fire that engulfed three cars at the same site.

In a related incident, the teams extinguished a fire in a car that had been targeted by an Israeli drone in the town of Kouthariyet El-Siyad. The rescue teams also recovered the body of a martyr from the scene.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense reaffirms its unwavering commitment to its humanitarian and national duties, as its teams continue to conduct search and field surveys in the towns affected by previous Israeli assaults, despite the ongoing challenges, to ensure all missing persons are found and all necessary tasks are completed efficiently.

President Aoun Offers Condolences for Martyred Soldiers

The Lebanese Presidency, through its official X platform, reported that President Joseph Aoun closely followed the developments of Israeli assaults on several southern villages this afternoon. He remained in constant communication with Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, who briefed him on the latest reports and information regarding the airstrikes targeting the villages.

President Aoun also extended his condolences for the three soldiers who were martyred while fulfilling their mission to safeguard security and protect the residents of southern Lebanon.
