The Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that more than 400 citizens, representing 40 percent of kidney patients, died during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip due to a lack of treatment.

The Ministry of Health indicated that 11 patients requiring dialysis have died since the beginning of last March in the Strip.

The Gaza Strip is facing a worsening health disaster due to the continued tight Israeli blockade and the complete closure of the crossings for more than two months.

This closure has halted the entry of food, medical aid, and fuel, leading to a sharp exacerbation of the medicine and healthcare crisis, especially for those suffering from chronic and serious diseases.

According to data from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, there are approximately 350,000 patients with chronic diseases in the Gaza Strip, including 71,000 diabetics, 225,000 with high blood pressure, and 45,000 with cardiovascular diseases. Thousands of patients with cancer, kidney disease, and other serious illnesses are also deprived of basic healthcare amid the collapse of the health sector.
