In the first official Iranian response to the US strikes targeting three nuclear sites inside the country, Iranian authorities confirmed this Sunday morning that the damaged sites had not recorded any radiation leaks or any danger threatening the surrounding population, stressing that the infrastructure of the nuclear facilities remains safe.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said it immediately conducted the necessary tests and found "no indications of any contamination as a result of the US attacks on nuclear sites."
The National Nuclear Safety System Center in Iran announced that information recorded by radioactive material detection systems did not show any signs of contamination at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities, indicating that the situation is completely under control.
In the same context, Manan Raisi, a member of the Iranian parliament representing Qom, stated that "initial investigations conducted at the bombing sites confirm the absence of nuclear radiation."
He continued, "Based on accurate information, I can say that, contrary to the false claims of the US president, the Fordow nuclear facility was not seriously damaged, and most of the damage was only on the ground and can be repaired."
