The United Nations condemned the continued targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip, amid growing warnings of massive destruction resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the occupied West Bank.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that the Israeli enemy army continues its shelling and ground incursions across the Strip, noting that dozens of victims, the majority of whom were women and children, fell as a result of shelling that targeted a group of citizens waiting for food in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued on Friday, the office indicated that field partners have established 626 temporary learning spaces in Gaza since October 2023, accommodating approximately 240,000 students, nearly half of whom are girls.

However, only 299 of these spaces are currently operating due to ongoing displacement orders. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli enemy has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The genocide has left more than 194,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of many, including children, as well as widespread destruction.
