The Center for Protecting Journalists (PJPC) condemned the killing of photojournalist Hussam Saleh al-Adlouni, who was martyred along with his wife and three children after Israeli airstrikes targeted their shelter in al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis.

In a statement, the center denounced the ongoing targeting of Palestinian journalists in Gaza — whether in the field, at home, in displacement camps, or even in hospitals — describing it as a systematic escalation amounting to war crimes.

The PJPC reported that at least 31 journalists have been killed since the start of 2025, and 91 in 2024, alongside the deaths of 512 of their relatives and the complete destruction of 77 journalists’ homes.

It also highlighted violations including arrests, threats, destruction of media infrastructure, and censorship of Palestinian content online. Many media outlets, it said, have been forced to evacuate.

The center called on the United Nations and international bodies to act immediately, stressing that journalists are protected under international humanitarian law and must not be targeted during armed conflict.
