The lawyer for the Palestinian doctor, Hussam Abu Safia, who is being held captive by Israeli forces, revealed that he is not well and has lost more than 40 kilograms.

Abu Safia's lawyer, Ghaid Ghanem Qassem, said in a post on Facebook, "Dr. Hussam Abu Safia is not well. My last visit to him was a few days ago, on July 9, 2025."

She noted that "his room was specifically raided (Room No. 1/Section 24 of Ofer Prison), and he was brutally beaten in the rib cage area."

She continued, "He sustained severe bruises on his face, head, back, and neck," lasting approximately 30 minutes. The lawyer stated, "Dr. Hossam requested treatment and necessary tests, and that he be referred to a cardiologist, but his request was rejected."
