The Brazilian government condemned the massacres carried out by Israel in recent days in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of Palestinians, including a large number of women and children.
The government specifically mentioned the Israeli massacre in the Nuseirat refugee camp, which resulted in the deaths of children in an Israeli airstrike while they were queuing for drinking water for themselves and their families. The government noted that "the Israeli military forces acknowledged responsibility for the attack and attributed it to a technical error."
It emphasized that "the consequences of these actions are contrary, under international humanitarian law, to the obligations of an occupying power and must be investigated to ensure appropriate accountability."
Brazil expressed its regret that these martyrs are in addition to the nearly 800 Palestinians killed in the past six weeks in humanitarian aid centers in Gaza, which are controlled by the Israeli government.
She added: "Once again, innocent civilians are falling victim to Israeli military operations against densely populated areas and humanitarian aid lines."
