A broad meeting of scholars and preachers in Hodeidah governorate took place on Wednesday under the slogan: “No Excuse Before Allah in Supporting Gaza and Resisting the Zionist-American Agenda.” The event was organized by the Religious Guidance and Endowments Sector in coordination with the Scholars’ Unit in the governorate.
In his concluding statement, Mufti of Zabid, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Ahdal, described the ongoing bombardment, starvation, and suffocating siege on Gaza as a grave crime demanding full mobilization of the Muslim Ummah in support of the oppressed. He affirmed that the Zionist-American enemy’s actions constitute a declaration of war on Islam.
The statement called upon the Ummah to mobilize comprehensively, emphasizing the continued preparation of fighters, support for resistance fronts in Palestine and Yemen, and the reactivation of scholars and preachers’ roles in rallying people to fulfill their religious duty. It stressed that those who remain inactive today have betrayed their faith and abandoned the path of guidance.
The scholars highlighted the critical role of religious leaders in advocating for the entry of food, water, and medicine into Gaza, raising their voices against complacent regimes, and awakening Muslim populations.
The statement further urged all Islamic scholars to fulfill their religious responsibilities by clarifying the legitimate stance Muslims—governments, peoples, and armies alike—must adopt against the Zionist-American schemes.
It called for united support of resistance factions, including providing weapons, funding, and popular as well as religious backing. It declared that anyone who obstructs or restricts such support is a traitor to the Ummah.
