Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated that the United Nations is "incapable" of stopping what he described as massacres committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

In a televised interview, Maduro said the UN has suffered a "fatal wound," emphasizing that the Palestinian people are facing massacres and genocide at the hands of Israel.

He remarked, “When a bomb falls on Palestinian children searching for food in Gaza, that bomb is also falling on the UN General Assembly.”

He further added that “the bombs and missiles launched by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are landing on the office of UN Secretary-General António Guterres.”

Maduro also criticized the International Court of Justice, saying it too is “incapable” of stopping global massacres.

He said: "Children are being killed daily by starvation and bombing, and journalists are being deliberately targeted. We are raising our voices as much as possible in the hope of reforming these institutions within the new world order."

Since October 7, 2023, Israel—backed by the United States—has been committing genocide in Gaza through killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in blatant disregard for international appeals and binding orders from the International Court of Justice to cease its actions.

The Israeli genocide has so far resulted in 61,599 martyrs, 154,088 wounded, over 9,000 missing persons, and hundreds of thousands displaced, in addition to a famine that has claimed many lives, including those of dozens of children.
