The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the targeting by the Israeli entity of the residence of Iranian diplomats accredited to Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths of several of them.
In a statement, the ministry affirmed that this criminal act constitutes a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and of international law, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
The ministry also condemned the targeting by the Israeli entity of journalists from Al Mayadeen and Al-Manar TV in what it described as a desperate attempt to silence the voice of truth and prevent the reporting of crimes committed against Lebanon.
The statement noted that the attack on diplomats and journalists once again demonstrates that the Israeli entity disregards all international norms, conventions, and laws, and represents a threat to regional and international security and stability.
The ministry expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the government of Iran, the brotherly Iranian and Lebanese peoples, and the families of the victims over this painful loss.
