The Palestinian Center for the Defense of Detainees has warned of the worsening conditions of Palestinian female detainees in the Zionist "Damon" prison. It confirmed that approximately 90 female prisoners are facing harsh conditions and continuous violations, including three pregnant prisoners, two minors, and three prisoners suffering from cancer.
The Center explained that the female detainees are subjected to a series of repressive practices. These include repeated physical assaults, strip searches, and humiliating photography, in addition to the use of sound bombs and police dogs during raids and inspection operations.
It pointed out that the Zionist enemy's prison administration has turned repression against female prisoners into a systematic, daily policy through frequent raids, the imposition of collective punishment, and the continuation of various forms of assaults.
The Center noted that severe overcrowding inside the prison has forced a number of female detainees to sleep on the floor, amid a acute shortage of clothing and basic necessities, which multiplies their humanitarian and living suffering.
Furthermore, it confirmed that the deliberate starvation policy practiced against the female detainees forces many of them to go to sleep hungry due to the insufficiency of the provided meals, a matter that reflects negatively on their health and psychological conditions.
The Center expressed its deep concern over the conditions of the pregnant and sick female prisoners, particularly those diagnosed with cancer, in light of the absence of necessary medical care and the continuation of medical neglect and abuse. It warned of the dangerous repercussions of these policies on their lives and health safety.
