Yemen's Acting Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras has urged all countries to require their companies to avoid Saudi ports until further notice, considering the warning is a disclaimer of responsibility.

Speaking to Saba News Agency on Thursday, Abu Ras said Yemen's position toward the Saudi enemy's intransigence is based on the principle of blockade for blockade. 

He said either all nations should enjoy freedom, sovereignty, and the benefits of their national resources, or the declared equation with the Saudi enemy would remain in effect.

Abu Ras warned that any party choosing to engage with the Saudi enemy would bear responsibility for the consequences of that decision, stressing that Yemen's actions are based on legitimate rights guaranteed under international norms and laws.

He added that the only way for Saudi Arabia to secure the lifting of the blockade imposed against it is to lift the blockade on Yemen, calling it the sole path to resolving the situation.

The statement comes days after the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a maritime blockade targeting Saudi-linked shipping under the "blockade for blockade" equation, saying the measure is a response to the continued Saudi blockade on Yemen and restrictions on Sana'a International Airport.

This move drew condemnation from several Arab governments that have supported the Saudi-led coalition since the launch of its military intervention in Yemen on March 26, 2015.
