A succession of investigative reports and media disclosures has recently detailed the extent of Saudi involvement—under the leadership of Mohammed bin Salman—in supporting the Israeli entity during its aggression on the Gaza Strip. Published by Western and regional outlets, these findings paint a grim picture of a state that long proclaimed its defense of the Palestinian cause, only to function in practice as a logistical, military, and financial partner in one of the deadliest wars in the history of the conflict.
Military Logistics: An Unprecedented Partnership
In July 2025, the Irish investigative outlet The Ditch revealed a shipment of Indian military-grade steel delivered to the port of Haifa in occupied Palestine aboard a Saudi vessel. The ship, Folk Dammam, owned by Folk Maritime—a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) chaired by Mohammed bin Salman himself—transported 75 bundles of military steel from Greece to "Israel".
Notably, Saudi Arabia acquired the vessel in May 2025, renaming it from Vega Coligny to Folk Dammam. Days after reflagging under the Saudi ensign, the ship called at Ashdod and Haifa. According to investigative findings, this timing points to deliberate pre-planning designed to obscure the transit route of military cargo.
In August 2025, a similar incident occurred at the Port of Genoa, Italy, where dockworkers intercepted the Saudi cargo vessel Bahri Yanbu. Inspections revealed a payload of U.S.-manufactured munitions, explosives, armored vehicles, and tanks bound for the Israeli military.
Saudi Oil: Fueling the War Machine
Saudi support has extended beyond maritime transport to direct energy supplies for the Israeli entity. An investigation published in March 2024 by The Guardian alongside Oil Change International reported that Saudi crude reaches "Israel, regularly via Egypt’s Sumed pipeline, circumventing the maritime blockade imposed by Yemen on Israeli-linked shipping.
The organization highlighted that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt remain the sole Arab states supplying oil to "Israel" during its war on Gaza—fuel subsequently processed to power aircraft and armor deployed in the strip. These shipments mark a sharp departure from historic Saudi policy, which previously rejected energy exports that supported the occupation.
The Land Bridge: Bypassing the Yemeni Blockade
In January 2024, the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported on an overland alternative facilitated by Saudi Arabia to bypass Yemen's naval blockade. Instead of circumnavigating the African continent, Israeli shipping lines offload cargo at Arabian Gulf ports, where Saudi and Jordanian trucking fleets transport the freight directly into the Israeli entity.
Lauded by the Israeli press as a significant facilitating measure by Riyadh, this terrestrial corridor reduced transit times from 60 days to 20 while drastically lowering transport costs—occurring alongside a joint Arab failure to deliver basic humanitarian food relief into Gaza.
Intelligence and Military Coordination
Reports by The Wall Street Journal, Daily Mail, and Forbes detail Saudi-Israeli cooperation extending into intelligence and defense integration. In October 2023, Saudi air defense systems intercepted Yemeni munitions launched toward Israeli targets. In April 2024, Saudi Arabia participated in sensitive intelligence sharing with the United States and "Israel" to assist in intercepting Iranian strikes against the Israeli entity.
Investigations by Who Profits and The Cradle further revealed financial ties between the Saudi PIF and Israeli settlement infrastructure in the occupied West Bank. In 2024, the PIF committed $2 billion to Affinity Partners, an investment firm managed by Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump. Affinity Partners subsequently acquired stakes in Israeli firms tied to West Bank settlements and defense operations, including:
- Shikun & Binui: Constructs settlement infrastructure and military facilities across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
- Israel Shipyards: Produces missile boats deployed in the maritime siege of Gaza.
- The Phoenix Holdings: Funds settlement expansion and commercial developments in illegal outposts.
- Defense and Infrastructure Vendors: Operations managing checkpoints and constructing bypass roads reserved for settlers.
Alongside logistical and military alignment, Saudi state media and affiliated digital networks have engaged in targeted media campaigns aimed at discrediting Palestinian resistance groups, establishing public positioning ahead of full diplomatic normalization.
Path Toward Full Normalization
These developments demonstrate that Saudi-Israeli normalization has effectively transitioned into operational practice. By June 2025, billboard campaigns in central Tel Aviv featured imagery of Mohammed bin Salman alongside Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump, framing the Crown Prince as the ultimate prize in regional normalization efforts. This followed earlier public statements by Mohammed bin Salman indicating that the Palestinian issue was not an operational priority for his administration.
Taken together, these actions reflect a structural realignment in Saudi foreign policy. Rather than leveraging energy reserves to pressure "Israel"’s allies, Riyadh has placed its financial, logistical, and intelligence assets at the service of the Israeli entity during a critical juncture for the Palestinian population.
