Hadramout Governor Luqman Baras warned against Saudi-backed efforts to open new fronts and recruit people from Hadramout and other southern and eastern provinces into military formations.

Baras affirmed that the Saudi regime is seeking to use local residents in conflicts against other Yemenis, stressing that the real objective was to weaken Yemen and expand control over Hadramout and its resources.

He called on national forces and residents of southern and eastern provinces to reject recruitment campaigns and remain united against attempts to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty, security, and stability.

In recent weeks, Saudi Arabia intensified military mobilizations across Marib, Al-Jawf, and the Red Sea coast, backed by loyalist factions, to launch a major offensive against Sana'a. Simultaneously, Riyadh ramped up recruitment campaigns in Hadramout—drawing local resistance, rejecting involvement in foreign-led conflicts.

ln otherwise, Sanaa's massive preemptive strike on August 6 struck Saudi positions and mercenary camps across Al-Ruwayk, Al-Abr, and other areas, killing hundreds and destroying dozens of vehicles—effectively disrupting Riyadh's planned escalation.
