Yemenis celebrated the birth of the Noble Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, in a manner unparalleled anywhere in the world.
This is Yemen—a country distinguished from all other Muslim peoples by its ability to give everything its rightful place. The Noble Messenger must occupy the foremost place among religious occasions, above all other great figures in Islam.
It is a commemoration in which Yemenis today, the descendants, rejoice at the birth of the blessed Light, just as their forefathers once rejoiced when Allah granted them the honor of becoming His devoted supporters.
This year, Yemenis celebrated the Prophet’s birth in diverse ways and in uniquely distinctive forms, all of which lead them toward Prophetic blessings, divine protection, and the higher purposes of Islam. It was a celebration that guides them along the straight path of this radiant Prophet and leads them to follow his clear and unmistakable way.
Amid the blockade and deliberate impoverishment, and after years of aggression under whose satanic banner gathered every rogue force from the far corners of the earth and the tyrants of this age, Yemenis celebrated.
Their good land was adorned in its green mantle, and they rejoiced in Allah’s grace and mercy. They proved, in every sense, that they are truly the people of faith and wisdom.
No one here is more deserving of honoring this Noble Prophet, nor is there any neglect whatsoever of the rightful place of Islam’s great figures from among the most honored Ahl al-Bayt.
This is a distinctly Yemeni characteristic, one rarely found elsewhere in the Muslim world—a characteristic that helps explain and illuminate the meaning of the saying: “Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni, and understanding of religion is Yemeni.”
Yemen Overcomes the Darkness of Ignorance
Amid this blockade and beneath the skies of this brutal aggression, millions of Yemenis gathered in public squares, setting their sights on the finest example and the noblest role model: Muhammad, the Master of the First and the Last.
Remarkably, the number of those celebrating and rejoicing in Allah’s blessing doubled this year, defying those who oppose the just project of Prophethood and champion the project of ignorance in its modern-day form, embodied by America, Israel, their clients, the House of Saud, and certain Gulf states.
Through their preachers and religious authorities, and from the pulpits of Muslims in the Two Holy Mosques, they never cease warning people against celebrating the Prophet’s birth and rejoicing in Allah’s blessing and grace.
They seek to distract people from turning toward their noble role model and instead keep them captive to the influence of corrupt, satanic, tyrannical, and ignorant role models that fundamentally oppose the just project of Prophethood and continually undermine the Islamic project.
This is Yemen—the people of the Ansar and the descendants of Aws and Khazraj. They have carved their path through the ruins of overt and disguised forms of ignorance, setting out on a living journey brought to life by the Qur’an toward their noble role model.
They cast aside all those idols and false deities: deviant leaders, client regimes, satanic Gulf wealth, and tribal and sectarian loyalties rooted in ignorance. They made the Prophet’s birth, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, their own rebirth.
The world was taken by surprise as this people, subjected for 12 years to relentless destruction by the deadliest weapons and the largest and most sophisticated instruments of devastation, emerged today with a stronger spirit than ever before and greater determination to advance the Qur’anic project and Prophetic guidance.
It became clear that all their schemes of ignorance—those aimed at attacking Islam in the hearts, reality, thought, and orientations of the Yemeni people—had ultimately failed.
The streets were adorned, while the squares, halls, mosques, and gathering places were perfumed with the remembrance of the virtues and noble qualities of the one whose blessed birth filled the earth with fragrance.
Meanwhile, the heroes of the army celebrated the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, in their own way—by striking at the enemies of Allah, the parasites of modern-day ignorance and the mercenaries of its leaders of disbelief.
The units of the missile defense industry, too, celebrated him, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, by making new advances in this field day after day.
They send forth earth-shaking meteors and roaring thunderbolts that destroy the machinery of death and scatter the aircraft of death unleashed by the Saudi forces of ignorance upon our people, our children, and our women.
A people who hold fast to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and envision him as a great leader under whose protection his companions would take shelter when the battle raged fiercely, is a people of powerful spirit—ablaze with faith, and charged with energy and determination.
Such a people presses forward toward manifest victory and the greatest triumph, which will follow the defeat of the confederate forces—the outcasts and rogues from across the world who are repeating the mistake of their predecessors in the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
The aggression is therefore reeling under the weight of its losses and stumbling deeper into its predicament. Much of what has been made public is already substantial, but what remains hidden is far greater still.
Those who draw upon the Noble Prophet’s path, his just principles, and his sublime moral character are bound to prevail; they have no choice but victory. For they carry a just cause and a clear vision—one founded on neither aggression nor injustice nor oppression.
Thus, the balance of forces is steadily moving toward victory for this generous country. While the aggressors suffer mounting losses, their front is steadily fracturing, their ranks are descending further into chaos and confusion, and their calculations continue to fail, the Prophet’s devoted followers and supporters are advancing on every battlefield and across every sphere.
Their strength grows, their heroes become ever more resolute, the legitimacy of their cause gains greater momentum, their military and political experience continues to deepen, and the differences among them steadily narrow.
The Prophet’s Birth Anniversary: The Birth of a Nation
The birth of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, should serve as a profound reminder of the great Islamic Ummah—a reminder that ought to be embraced each year as an occasion to reflect upon the condition in which it finds itself today, a condition that, in one way or another, may resemble that of the age of ignorance.
The anniversary should therefore inspire the Ummah to rise into the atmosphere of Prophethood, to embrace the ethics of the divine message and the conduct shaped by revelation, so that it may claim its rightful share and a vital part of this divine and Prophetic legacy.
That legacy must be reflected in its aspirations, its morals, and its relationships, until it is reborn: unity replacing division; knowledge replacing ignorance; Islamic bonds replacing all other ties; dignity replacing humiliation; guidance replacing misguidance and bewilderment; strength replacing weakness; and righteous deeds replacing wrongdoing.
Through this transformation, its promised entity and rightful standing will emerge—founded upon faith, righteous action, uprightness, and sound judgment, as Allah says:
“Allah has promised those of you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession upon the earth, just as He granted succession to those before them; that He will firmly establish for them the religion He has chosen for them; and that He will replace their fear with security. They worship Me, associating nothing with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that—it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.”
—Qur’an 24:55
The Prophet’s birth anniversary must be an occasion for carrying forward the project of a united Ummah governed by Allah’s methodology, following the path of knowledge and sound judgment—the very foundation of its life and salvation, and its path to Allah’s pleasure and Paradise.
Among the Ummah’s most important undertakings must be to shake off the dust of ignorance that has contaminated its life, poisoned its atmosphere, reduced its efforts to trivial pursuits, and squandered its hopes on frivolities.
It is indeed a momentous occasion for the Ummah to remember that it cannot remain trapped in the modern age of ignorance—a state that has strayed from Allah’s methodology, taken rivals besides the law of Allah, worshiped material interests, legislated according to whims and desires, rushed toward false forms of partisanship and tribalism, and imported systems, laws, positions, and visions for which Allah has revealed no authority.
The anniversary should also serve as an occasion to renew the Ummah’s covenant with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, who stands for the Ummah as its finest example, its noble source of strength, and the embodiment of a sublime way of life.
He was a Messenger deeply concerned by the hardship and suffering of his Ummah, and toward the believers, he was most compassionate and merciful. His Lord nurtured and refined him in the finest manner, and he was endowed with a magnificent moral character.
Accordingly, the Ummah must work to instill the value of love for the Prophet in the hearts of his followers and in the minds of rising generations, recognizing that love for him is a religious obligation—one that categorically rejects the lies propagated by those who lie in wait for Islam and level false accusations against its Noble Prophet.
