Fierce Battles Rage in Gaza: Palestinian Resistance Deals Heavy Blows to Israeli Forces
In the southern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian resistance continues its relentless defense against Israeli forces, especially as the conflict enters its 310th day. The ongoing battles, particularly in the south, have inflicted significant losses on the Israeli military in terms of personnel, equipment, and machinery.
In a recent escalation, Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, announced that they targeted Israeli soldiers and their vehicles in the northeastern region of Khan Younis with a barrage of mortar shells.
Additionally, Saraya al-Quds reported that they launched several “Ababil” explosive devices at an Israeli command center located near the 86th “Kurds” hill, also in the northeastern part of Khan Younis. Alongside these operations, the group released footage showing rocket strikes on the occupied city of Ashkelon and the surrounding settlements near Gaza.
Meanwhile, the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades launched a heavy mortar attack on a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the same northeastern sector of Khan Younis. They also released videos showing their fighters bombarding Israeli troop concentrations and armored positions in the heart of Yibna camp, south of Rafah, with 60mm mortars.
Intense Clashes in Rafah
The al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades intensified their operations in Rafah, targeting Israeli troop concentrations and armored vehicles around the Rafah border crossing with 60mm mortars.
Additionally, the Omar al-Qasim Forces, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), confirmed their mortar shelling of Israeli positions near the Japanese Garden in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood in western Rafah.
According to reports from Al-Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza, fierce clashes are ongoing between resistance fighters and Israeli forces in the Zlata and Tanur neighborhoods, east of Rafah. The Israeli military has reportedly increased its ground maneuvers in recent days, but remains constantly on the move, fearing resistance attacks.
Yesterday, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that their fighters in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of western Rafah were engaged in intense close-quarter combat with Israeli forces and their armored vehicles, releasing footage of a special Israeli unit being targeted in the area.
As the Palestinian resistance continues its operations across all fronts in Gaza, the Israeli military has acknowledged that 12 of its soldiers were injured in the ongoing battles over the past 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” campaign, the Israeli military, under the category of “permitted for publication,” has admitted the loss of 689 officers and soldiers, and the wounding of 4,284 others, 2,190 of whom have been injured since the start of the ground operation. However, the actual number of casualties is believed to be much higher, as documented by the ongoing resistance operations.
