The United Nations has condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli attacks on starving Palestinians queuing daily for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate and future investigation into these incidents.
The UN position comes as attacks on Palestinians continue at aid distribution points, leaving hundreds dead and wounded in a scene that exacerbates the ongoing genocide for the 22nd consecutive month.
Israeli soldiers and officials have admitted to deliberately shooting at unarmed civilians simply seeking a livelihood.
In a briefing to the UN Security Council, Khaled Khiari, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Near Eastern Affairs, said: "We strongly condemn the horrific loss of life and injuries among Palestinians trying to obtain humanitarian aid in Gaza."
The UN official called for "an immediate and independent investigation into these events and for the perpetrators to be held accountable."
He emphasized that "the United Nations will not participate in any aid delivery mechanism that does not respect the principles of humanity, integrity, independence, and neutrality."
